Dan "Corky" Sullivan
I attended Moye
in 1954, 1955 & 1956, in the 7th & 8th grade. In the 7th grade I lived
in the "Rock House." In the 8th grade I was in a private room. I was
on the drill team in the 7th grade & we performed in the "Battle of
Flowers" parade in San Antonio. I was the "Drum Major" in
the 8th grade. At field day in the 8th grade, my roommate, Jose
"Pepe" Nader Junior III, from Monterrey Mexico won
"Mister Moye." I won a medal for "The cadet who tried the
hardest & didn't win anything." I entered every event I could. Today
I live on the water near Galveston in a village called "Bayou Vista
Texas." It is located near the Galveston causeway where State Highway 6
runs into IH 45. I worked as an electronics technician until about 1989, when
I went back to school at 50 years old to become a teacher. I have taught
High school electronics & computer maintenance in Colorado City Texas for
3 years, Dominguez State Jail in San Antonio for 2 years, Medina Valley
High School in Castroville Texas for 3 years, A & M Consolidated High
School in College Station Texas for 1 year & Lamar High School in Houston
Texas since 2000. At Lamar, I left the classroom & became the school Technical
Director. I am now 63 years old & work full time. I also buy & sell
boats when I am not fishing. I have been married to Marjorie Zimmerman
Sullivan for 21 years. We are both from Corpus Christi. I had a had a very
serious drinking problem until 1971, when I became a member of a 12 step
program & sobered up. I am still a member of that 12 step program &
have been sober, one day at a time, for over 33 years at this time. We are
active members of our church, Arcadia First Baptist Church, in Santa Fe Texas.
I have been on mission trips, through our church, to Brazil & Australia. I
have written music & played the guitar for the last 49 years. I would love
to help all of us to stay in touch. My life's hero was Coach Ted Stecker! Our
phone is 713/927-4547. Our address is 108 Tarpon, Bayou Vista, Texas 77563
